KIA has decided to change its face in 2021. The new logo and slogan are supposed to be the beginning of changes, and these announcements have been confirmed with the facelift of the most popular model family, the Ceed.

KIA Ceed has been the best selling model of the Korean brand for years. It’s no wonder that after showing off a new logo and slogan earlier this year, which reads “a movement that inspires”, they decided to facelift this very model range.

Each body type, namely hatchback, station wagon and shooting brake, will receive new refreshed colors, a fully revised front of the car, new aluminum wheels, as well as a range of transmissions and engines. Changes also apply to the interior and rear section, where selected details are designed to make the car look more sporty. In addition, there is a choice of thirteen different paintwork finishes that will make the new Ceed appeal to even the most discriminating buyer.

Let’s start with the exterior. The distinctive grille has been updated and finished with chrome slats. The logo above it attracts attention as it looks really aesthetic and modern. At the rear in Korea, it has been decided to enhance the bumper with a black diffuser which adds a sporty touch to the brand’s flagship model. All the lamps are led, and the GT-Line and GT versions have received special rear lamps in a honeycomb configuration, which looks really grand.

What awaits us inside?

When you get behind the wheel, you’ll immediately notice the changes for the better. In the foreground we have a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, behind which a 12.3-inch display is hidden. The whole is supported by a second screen of 10.25 inches located in the middle. What is really convenient for the driver is that both displays are placed at the same height.

That’s not all the new Ceed has to offer. Customers can choose from nine different upholstery colors, and special versions include contoured seats made of black suede. The finishings are on a really good level and make you feel quite luxurious.

The communication of the car is also on a good level. It is possible to connect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is also possible to control the car remotely thanks to KIA Connect application. A very useful option is the ability to save and transfer the car settings to another vehicle. This is good for employees who frequently change cars within the company’s fleet.

What tigers like the most – what can we find under the hood?

You can choose from a variety of power units, ranging from 100 horsepower to as much as 204 horsepower. The available types include a plug-in hybrid PHEV, a soft hybrid MHEV, a turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 1.6 liters, as well as gasoline units with capacities of 1.0, 1.5 and 1.6 liters. Depending on the version, we have a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. An interesting choice is also an intelligent mechanical gearbox, which is designed for units with so-called soft hybrid. It allows a significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.

The most powerful version is the 1.6 T-GDi petrol unit. It is mated to a 7-speed 7DCT automatic and has three driving modes that will allow both fun and economical driving.
