Japan: Toyota plans to build another prototype hydrogen city

It takes approx. 1 minutes to read this article

It’s the Japanese manufacturer’s next step toward becoming climate neutral by 2050. Toyota, earlier this year, began building a Woven City near Mount Fuji, and now the company has decided to follow suit.

Toyota and the Fukushima prefectural government have begun conceptual work on an experimental city operating on hydrogen and hydrogen technology produced in that part of the country. This is another such development, following Woven City.

Isuzu and Hino and other partners will support the new project. The prototype city will be powered by local hydrogen production facilities. With local production, the city of the future will be green and support the local economy of Fukushima.

Initially, a prototype city for 300,000 residents will be built. Further, after the testing phase, similar sites will be built across the country.
